Colour Observations

Across the four weeks of the workshop the participants will study the work of four different well-known artist to understand their relation to colour and their techniques. The artist’s colour scheme will form the motivation for a series of exercise and sketches and will used for a final study.

Each four week block will look at a different artist including Frida Kahlo, Franz Kline, Ninth Street Women and Vincent van Gogh.


The full day workshops will focus on the abstract expressionists, including Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner, Helen Frankenthaler and others. The full day session will start with a range of exercises and studies, with the rest of the day given over to a single painting

Wednesdays or Saturdays 10am - 12.30pm

Develop your own colour scheme through the study well-know artists’ relation to colour - Kline, Kahlo, van Gogh, Ninth Street Women.
