Exhibitions 2024

During 2024 the abstract artist CM Robertina will host two exhibitions of her latest work, turning her studio and workshop space at Kunsthuis into a dedicated gallery for a two week period. 

2024 will see CM Robertina continue to develop her current artistic preoccupations exploring the tension between the relatively fixed form of the body and the shifting energy of emotions - they way our most intense feelings find expression in and through the body. This has currently led to three different, but overlapping series of paintings: 

Series 1. the classic nude approached as an abstract form. Although some of this work uses life models, the majority of paintings are an exploration of her own body image through paint. 

Series 2. the shibari paintings. These works are representations of the body bound or tied by ropes. 

Series 3. the orgasm paintings. Here, CM Robertina represents the energy released through sexual pleasure. 

Additionally, for 2024 CM Robertina plans to launch an exciting new series of abstract painting of horses. Throughout the history of painting, artists have been attracted to the beauty and power of horses, and CM Robertina is no exception. Her horse paintings will further explore her preoccupations with movements and seemingly unbound, wild energy she has observed in horses.
